JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Social Content, the Social Media Manager holds a pivotal role in building Viking's online presence on organic social. Collaborating extensively with your fellow Social Content Managers, the Design Team, and the Digital Communities Team among others, this position spearheads the planning, development, execution, publishing, and analytical assessment of social content initiatives for assigned social channels and content pillars, including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, Threads & YouTube. The Social Content Manager will craft purpose-driven content by leveraging comprehensive knowledge of the brand, business objectives, the product portfolio, customers/guests, and industry best practices.

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED IN WOODLAND HILLS, CA. HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE UP TO 3 DAYS PER WEEK.

 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the end-to-end social content process including:
    • Developing and submitting monthly content calendars for assigned content pillars and categories to Sr. Manager, Social Content for feedback and approval
    • Writing or providing input on creative briefs and partnering with Copy and Design teams to develop assets for compelling and visually appealing content, including custom graphics, images, videos and reels.
    • Providing feedback to creative partners to ensure alignment with Viking's voice, tone, business objectives, and social best practices
    • Scheduling and publishing content across different social media channels using scheduling tools
    • Analyzing content performance to develop insights and recommendations for future content development and scheduling
  • Identify UGC opportunities and work with Social Communities team to secure permission to use in future content
  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications
  • Develop a strong understanding of the Viking brand and Viking’s customer base to inform content strategy and direction
  • Create a learning agenda for assigned social content pillars and categories to continually improve social content performance
  • Seek out social content creative inspiration to share with team and cross-functional partners

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3+ years demonstrated success managing social content programs and platforms or relevant content marketing experience at an established national or global brand
  • Experience using social content publishing and analytics tools such as Khoros Marketing, Sprinklr, Hootsuite, or similar
  • Deep knowledge of social platform features, algorithms, creative best practices, analytics and KPIs
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and pivot when needed
  • Strong time management, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Strong verbal, written, and communication skills
  • Ability to learn new tools and processes quickly
  • Deep understanding of social media content and platform best practices
  • Demonstrates resilience under tight deadlines and shifting priorities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proactive and resourceful self-starter who can leverage all available resources to consistently improve efficiency
  • Responsible for managing the success of project deliverables including the management of people staffed to a project
  • Breadth of knowledge about world geography and passion for travel, learning, and world cultures
  • Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite, photography basics, and video editing
  • Eye for design and attention to detail and impeccable QA skills
  • Can work effectively through ambiguity and adversity to help build a positive and optimistic working environment

 EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, social media, communications, public relations, creative writing, digital design, or relevant field

    • Salary range $84,000-$105,000 annually determined by a myriad of factors including, but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, and other relevant business considerations.
